2001 Mercury Grand Marquis

The Mercury Grand Marquis has certainly done away with the flashy, sleek style
that is so common among most modern cars today. It has poured into the practical
needs of its motorists what it fails to do in its design. Though this is not to
say that the Grand Marquis is not physically attractive, on the other hand it
exudes an old school aura as it has maintained the classic beauty and style of
the sedans we grew up with.
The 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis comes in two trim levels, the GS and
the LS. Both are driven by a 4.6-liter V8 matched to a 4-speed
automatic overdrive transmission. This engine has been retuned and
reengineered to produce a more torquey sedan, the Grand Marquis is now
capable of producing 220 horsepower at 4750 rpm, and 265 pound-feet of
torque at 4000 rpm with the single exhaust system and 235 horsepower
and 275 pound-feet of torque with the optional dual exhaust. With its
awesome engine and comfy interior, the Grand Marquis is a pleasure to
ride. It is smooth and handles tough roads well, and is stable even at
high speeds. The enhanced suspension allows for a less bumpy ride even
at the roughest roads.
