2004 Mercury Grand Marquis

Though the Marquis' looks is reminiscent of an long gone era, beneath its classic
beauty is a sedan that has been fitted with some of the best modern mechanical
equipments. To improve its crash performance the Marquis has been fitted with
a full-perimeter frame that makes use of a strong yet lightweight hydroformed
steel section for the frontal rails.
Aside from that, the Marquis also underwent suspension upgrades to enhance the
car's smooth and comfortable performance. A rack-and-pinion system with variable
power assist and a dual-rate brake booster has also been added. The Mercury Grand
Marquis' standard models are equipped with a 224 horsepower, 4.6 liter V8 engine
coupled to a four-speed automatic.
The handling package available for the LS model uses an upgraded engine capable
of producing 239 horsepower. Inside the Marquis is its best-selling pitch, the
large cabin along with the comfortable bench seats gives enough room for six passengers.
The trunk is large too, with enough room for 20.6 cubic feet worth of cargo.
